N.O.V.A. 3 is at this time the latest part of the popular trilogy by Gameloft. The plot of the game is concentrated on the opposition between the Earth and the aliens. And such themes are always among our favorite ones, you know!

The first part tells us about the creation of the N.O.V.A. organization which is Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance. In the far future people won't be able to live on the Earth anymore - they'll build space shuttles and put them into orbit. As it always happens, new "settlement" needs good protection as the danger is everywhere, especially in the space. That's the aim of N.O.V.A. organization.

Like many shooters, N.O.V.A. 3 has the main hero with a hard fate - commander Kal Wardin. In the first part we learn that after his retirement Wardin is sent to explore one of the settlements. When he arrives he finds out that the shuttle has been attacked and nobody managed to survive. AI called Yelena gives the commander an order to destruct the settlement. But suddenly he hears the voice of another AI called Prometheus with the help of which Wardin learns the mystery of the settlement's death. That's how we get acquainted with Kal Wardin. Later N.O.V.A. 2 tells us about alien invaders that also appear in the third part of the story.

N.O.V.A. 3 begins with the following: Kal Wardin who had a several month rest after hard fights against aliens gets desperate appeal from Yelena that asks him to come back to the Earth and protect mankind from the invaders' attack.

The plot on the whole is quite simple and it doesn't play a great role in the gameplay as your missions have little in common with it. Among your first tasks are quite easy ones like "get inside and switch off the transmitter". But of course they gradually become more difficult. Thanks to the music in the game you can feel the spirit of N.O.V.A. 3 and can't stop while the action takes place.

There is always something to be afraid of: strange alien cries, dark ruins of the once successful city and radio set talks make a dull and frightening post apocalyptic picture.

And now let's turn to the game controls. It's quite easy especially if you have already experienced playing games of the genre. With your right hand you aim at objects, control your hero's jumps and super-abilities. In the upper right corner there is a mark for arm reloading.

With your left hand you can guide your hero. With the upper left corner button you can make a pause and go back to the menu. There is also a special menu with upgrading options. And the level of the upgrades depends upon your success in the game. As usual - you may simply buy them for real money.

Together with passing the missions you can try a multiplayer mode in N.O.V.A. 3: through WiFi or online. Playing online you join some campaign or create your own one. But log in before it on Gameloft's web-site. And newbies should train first as the network game is for the experienced players who pay little attention to the newcomers and very often laugh at them.

And the graphics in the game is really worth mentioning. It's just brilliant! I rarely meet such good quality picture in the games for mobile gadgets. Everything up to the beautiful field of the menu is ideal. And at the same time there are no "bugs" in N.O.V.A. 3.

So if you like shooters you'll no doubt enjoy this game. Even the price doesn't matter when you're going to have such fun with the game like N.O.V.A. 3.
